Hi, I’m Victoria akhteebo [She/her/hers].

I’m an EMDR-trained, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois with experience supporting adults navigate trauma, attachment wounding, and emotional reactions that can affect daily life, interpersonal relationships, and reaching your future goals.

I have 5 years of mental health experience across private practice, university, outpatient, community mental health, and long-term care settings. I completed my EMDR training in 2020. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from North Park University and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from DePaul University. My EMDR training was completed in 2020 in Phoenix, AZ where I worked in a community mental health setting. I moved back to Illinois in 2021 (originally from Illinois).

I specialize in trauma therapy, integrating EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) with Attachment-Focused interventions, and parts work. I also include CBT, DBT, Polyvagal (Window of tolerance), and Client-Centered approaches to create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

My core values are authenticity, growth, empathy, courage, creativity, and integrity. I am warm, friendly, relatable, insightful, and compassionate. My goal is to provide a supportive space for you to feel heard and understood. Also, to feel safe in your feelings, thoughts, and body.

When I’m not in session, I love activities that allow creativity, such as painting my nails, drawing, and painting. I also enjoy reading, traveling, taking long walks in nature, and spending time with my family.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone.
