*At Empowered Emotions Counseling, I’m committed to providing quality therapeutic services in a transparent and respectful manner. As part of this commitment, I have outlined the policy regarding changes in session fees below.
*Fees for therapy sessions are subject to periodic review. Should a change in fees become necessary, clients will be provided with a minimum of 30 days’ written notice before the new rate takes effect. This notice may be provided via email, client portal, or during a scheduled session.
Session Fees and Pricing
Initial Consultation: $0 (15 minute phone call).
Self-pay rate: $150 per session (53 minutes) All self-pay clients are required to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE).
EMDR Intensives: (Intensives are not covered by insurance and will not qualify for out-of-network reimbursement). Assessment/initial evaluation are included in the fee. Fees are paid by credit card via the client portal prior to beginning the intensives.
Intensives are $200 an hour and run 2-6 hours depending on preference and complexity of targeted issues.
Intensives are offered to 2-3 clients per month.
50% of the cost of the intensive is required to book your appointment, and the other 50% is due before the first session.
Insurance Information
I am in network with with the following insurance providers: Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Aetna PPO. Some insurance plans may fully or partially cover telehealth services. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to understand your mental health benefits.
For out-of-network clients, I can provide super-bills for reimbursements. Please contact your insurance provider for answers to these questions to determine your benefits.
Does my insurance include mental health services?
Does my plan limit to how many sessions I may have in one calendar year?
Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it? Have I met it?
Do I need written doctor approval to cover mental health services?
Telehealth Billing and Reimbursement
My telehealth sessions comply with HIPAA regulations to protect your privacy. If you’re using insurance, I’ll handle the billing directly for in-network providers. For out-of-network claims, I’ll assist by providing necessary documentation (e.g., superbills).
Payment Methods
I accept major credit/debit cards and fees can be paid via the patient portal. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed upon.
Cancellation and No-Show Policy
A 24-hour notice is required. Late Cancellation/No-Shows: A fee based on contracted insurance rate will be charged for no-shows and appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice. The fee will be waived if able to reschedule within the same week. For self-pay clients, the late cancellation and no-show fee is $100.
Exceptions: I understand emergencies happen— we can discuss what constitutes an emergency.
